Hebe’s Options

Iris had not even finished the announcement of Zeus‘s decree, when both Hephæstus and Athena showed up, dramatically. Hefe’s monstrous dark form stomped up the temple stairs, as flames dripped off him. Ducking to enter the temple, he dragged Apollo and Hermes out, throwing them into the street. He then quickly spun to face Heracles. Heracles quickly knelt; to extinguish an ember, supporters claim.

He did not stand, though as he looked directly at Hephæstus. “Would you widow my new love even before her Brides’ Day… Brother ? The Vulcano bellowed, “We shall see if you are worthy to be called so.” Adding with a snort, “Mortal.“ Without another word, the blacksmith resumed normal size and headed to the altar for a mead, as an attending nymph was sent to inform Hebe that her brother had arrived.

Athena arrived In the privy antechamber, fully armored, with several Amazons in tow in a nova – like flash of light, visibly disappointed Hefe had arrived so quickly. As She walked across the antechamber, her armor fell away, revealing a simple tunic and mantle. Athena entered the privy, bringing a lush pillow for Hebe’s back. “Child, with your face and my brains. How can you lose?” She cooed.
